The successful candidate would work within our GIS Team as part of our Central Data Services Team to build, enhance, maintain and deliver our extensive suite of GIS products and add value to our wide range of Location Insite tools focused on retail analysis, traffic information and demographics used both in our own spatial models and analysis and by our clients in their own custom application.
Based remotely or partially at one of our US Offices, you will be responsible for working with not only other GIS team members but across the company and with our clients to collect, curate, consolidate, cleanse, and enrich geographic information of all types from a variety of sources to be used to provide valuable market insights. Working in our GIS Team, you will be be working with a wide variety of global geographic data. This will involve collection of, ETL processes and implementation of map layers for our various products. You will also support other teams across the company by providing a range of GIS services including data collection, map layer creation, analysis and more.
We are looking for someone that has experience with using ETL/Model Building tools to automate GIS processing in a production environment and has a desire to advance their career in the GIS field. You should be comfortable in taking on new challenges, have a desire to continually improve process and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Job requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
• Experience using GIS software such as QGIS & ArcGIS
• Experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx or FME ETL solutions, Model building tools in GIS software and/or Python.
• Strong research skills and experience in delivering data insights, making recommendations, and following them through
• Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Skills & Experience:
• Experience with PostGres & GeoServer
• Experience related to demography, road traffic data/vehicle counts and general mapping of all types
• Experience with Mobility data/Connected car data
• Knowledge of Digital Road Networks such as OpenStreetMap or equivalent
• Action-oriented and results-driven
• Detail-oriented but able to ‘ladder-up’ to see the big picture
• Comfortable with ambiguity
Qualifications
• Degree qualified, preferably in Geography/GIS or a science, technical or business field with experience using Geographic Information Systems
